1. Somali Sideways - My biggest achievement...

Somali Sideways has achieved remarkable milestones, transcending geographic boundaries to promote transformative storytelling. From globe-trotting journeys that brought our narratives to diverse corners of the world to hosting impactful book events, the project's photobook now graces the shelves of the prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) library, acting as a catalyst for changing perceptions of Somalis. Our collaboration with influential institutions, including the African Union, has expanded our reach and influence. Notably, our network has grown to encompass Somalis from both the Diaspora and the African region, creating a powerful tapestry of voices that challenge stereotypes, celebrate diversity, and amplify the authentic stories of resilience within the Somali community. Somali Sideways stands as a testament to the potential of visual storytelling in fostering understanding and unity on a global scale.
